“Denounce” is actually a more accurate term to voice objection to something or someone.

In short, Clinton tried to appear smarter, seem tougher, and imply that Obama is connected to Farrakhan despite his statements, which isn’t the case. Not only is that a misleading and unkind thing for her to do; she was simply wrong in her hypercorrection.
