My office at work burned down.

In the early hours of December 6th, 2005, our work office caught fire.
While the fire was contained within one room (my office/server room), the damage is considerable. While we are still (at this very moment) waiting for things to cool down so we can inventory, a rough estimate is that we have lost about $80,000 in equipment and untold man hours.
Additionally, I lost some personal stuff that I had on my desk. Not to mention my poor Powerbook….of note though: the Dell monitor on my desk is melted about 80% but still powers up. Now THAT will be a keepsake.
