Sleep is for the weak…

By the time I get off work tonight, I will have been awake for over 36 hours.

Can coffee and the sheer joy of being at work keep me alert and productive? Probably not, but it’s unlikely anyone will notice a marked change.

Here is a picture of a blue chicken. Enjoy.

HAHAHAHAH! This is actually a GREEN chicken!!! HAHAHAAHAHAHA!!!!

[edit] Not bad…41 hours. good night…yawn.

I love this video. Two of my favorite comedians in a classic Daily Show sketch.

Bluegrass? Country? Deliverance?

Anyone able to recommend any music like the song linked below? This is a cover by Johnny Cash of an old standard called ‘Wayfaring Stranger’. The violin at the beginning absolutely haunts me…I get cold chills every time I listen to it.

In the movie ‘Cold Mountain’, Jack White (of the White Stripes, Raconteurs) plays similiar music…but the soundtrack doesn’t have any of that (at least the partial s/t on itunes doesn’t).

I know it’s a nice Appalachian style of music that borders on Bluegrass, but everything I am finding sounds way too contemporary and is usually more fast paced.

Last Saturday I drove Tori to Florida to spend a couple of weeks with her Nana/my Mom. On the way, we made a pit stop for snacks and supplies, and were pleasantly surprised to see the sign below, and then actual proof of the alleged dinosaurs.

The highlight for Tori though, was realizing that the Old Navy flip-flop on the other side of the fence was THE SAME AS THE ONES SHE WAS WEARING!!!!

Happy 4th of July. Suckers.

Attention, people of America, this is NOT patriotism. This isn’t even jingoism. This is blatant fear mongering and money grubbing.

The irony of this being plastered on a freaking Escalade is enough to make even Alannis Morrisette see the light.
