Stephen Hawking rocks Zero Gravity!

Have you ever had one of those days when it seemed like you weren’t alone in the world and that people don’t actually hate you?
No? Me either.
Until today, of course. Actually, forgive the hyperbole…I have a good life and always feel loved, but some days are better than others. For instance, Andy comes in this morning with a stupid grin on his face and hands me a gift: a pair of Guinness flip-flops. If only I didn’t have webbed toes.
:(
Though it’s a little creepy for a straight man to buy another straight man a pair of shoes, I thought it was damned funny and considerate of him to think about me and buy me some goofy sandals endowed with the logo of my favorite beverage. I guess I’ll buy him that red thong with Betty Boop on it now…
So yeah, and then a few minutes ago, Frank throws open the door to my office so fast that I thought he was Kramer. He marches over to my desk and thrusts his arm out. Attached to said arm is a hand, and in that hand was a gorgeous Cohiba Toro Tube. Oh baby…can’t wait to get home, grab a glass of Mist and hit the deck.
Life is good.
Office 2007 is MS’ latest and greatest version of their cash-cow Office suite. They herald it as the best and most user friendly office yet.
But still, even 30 years into personal computing, we see stupid crap like this:
In order for someone to do so, they have to navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook and find the file, which by default won’t have the extension shown.
Do you know how hard it would be for Microsoft to change that dialog to have a button that says ‘Click here to remove the .ost file now…we will rename the file to %date%-backup.ost and restart Outlook automatically’.
Not hard at all. Likely less than 5 minutes to create the custom dialog and code the rename using the FSO. At the absolute VERY least, tell the user where the damned file is located! And even more importantly, let them know that by deleting the file they will have to resynch their ENTIRE mailbox. Ugh.
Why Microsoft, why must you be so freaking antagonistic toward the end user? Why can’t you take a clue from the rest of the industry and make the technology work FOR the user, instead of AGAINST them?
This kind of crap is why I went Apple.

Read the whole article…the italic part is where I lost faith in humanity. It’s quoted below in case you don’t want to go to CNN.
