Dr. Pepper challenges Axl Rose to a dual — to the death

:) http://money.cnn.com/news/newsfeeds/articles/prnewswire/NYW021A26032008-1.htm Tired of a world in which Americans idolize wannabe singers and musicals about high schoolers pass as rock ‘n roll music, Dr Pepper is encouraging (ok, begging) Axl Rose to finally release his 17-year-in-the-making belabored masterpiece, Chinese Democracy, in 2008. In an unprecedented show of solidarity with Axl, everyone in America, except estranged GNR guitarists Slash and Buckethead, will receive a free can of Dr Pepper if the album ships some time — anytime! … We know once it’s released, people will refer to it as “Dr Pepper for the ears” because it will be such a refreshing blend of rich, bold sounds — an instant classic.”

Hillary attacked in Bosnia by 8 year old girl

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ If you’re Hillary Clinton and you’ve just been caught in a “whopper,” the only thing to be grateful for is that it’s Good Friday and people are distracted. … When you dramatically say you made a journey that was too dangerous for the president, only to have it revealed that he made the same trip two months earlier — and that your teenaged daughter was by your side — that only makes it worse. … Clinton said that she landed in Bosnia under “sniper fire,” adding: “There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base.”

New Raconteurs out on the 25th

“Album” meaning: full length vinyl, CD and digital formats; and “everywhere” meaning: local mom and pop indie retailers, corporate superstores, supermarkets, iTunes, Amazon, the band’s own website and any other location that could get the record up and going this quickly (some places couldn’t move this fast, so they will join in as soon as they can). … The band also prefer that fans buy the album as a whole instead of breaking up the tracks, but until iTunes and other digital services allows bands to release their albums with the option of NOT breaking it up, it will be sold in that fashion on those particular sites. … Thank you for all those who respect music in this fashion, and thank you to our label partners for working with us to get this album to fans in as many formats as possible all at once.

Pastor Wright - quoting someone else in his ‘provocative’ speeches…

http://ac360.blogs.cnn.com/2008/03/21/the-full-story-behind-rev-jeremiah-wrights-911-sermon/
” One of the most controversial statements in this sermon was when he mentioned “chickens coming home to roost.” He was actually quoting Edward Peck, former U.S. Ambassador to Iraq and deputy director of President Reagan’s terrorism task force, who was speaking on FOX News. That’s what he told the congregation.
He was quoting Peck as [...]

The gauntlet is down - what will you do, America?

In a hundred years, this speech will be spoken of in the same reverent tones as the Gettysburg Address or Kennedys’ inaugural.

For a follow up, and with a very good (and seemingly heartfelt) closing line - Jon Stewart:
