Domains for sale!
I have a bad habit of getting great ideas, working on them furiously for a little while then getting distracted by something shiny. This means I have a lot of half finished projects in limbo (oh God you should see my basement), and others that are nothing but an idea.
Here are a few domain names I’d like to unload, and I will even supply you with possible uses for them. If you’re interested, please use the Contact form and make an offer. Just for the sake of saving time: minimum offer on any domain is $100 USD. Considering you get a great name, a good idea and my assistance in getting started, it’s a bargain.
We’ll complete the transaction using a domain escrow service and Paypal.
- MacLoot.com, MacLoot.net and MacLoot.org – These will go together, mainly because if you do something with it, you are going to want to keep the squatters away from it. Ideally you would use this for a storefront, but I also tinkered with making it a ‘Digg’ like site where people post deals and they are voted up by popularity. You might also consider an amazon storefront, affiliate links or even a ‘one deal a day’ site like Woot.com or MacZot.com.
There is a tremendous amount of possibility here, and one could quickly and easily recoup their costs if they have the time to dedicate to the site.
- DroboCop.com – Ok, I bought this one because it is a damned clever name and the Drobo is amazingly popular. A user forum, software repository, tips/tricks site would do very well here, augmented with some affiliate links from a vendor like Amazon or Buy.com.
- SendAlot.com , SendAlot.net and SendAlot.org – Once again, a package deal. These sites are live and working. They generate a little cash each month (enough to pay for some movies and a few lunches). But they need to be updated both stylistically and code wise. You get the existing code with this one – many nights worth of coding went into this, so don’t lowball me, or I’ll cut you.
- Techpedia.org – one of my oldest domains. It too generates a little revenue every month, but to be honest it is never touched – I feed it news and it spits it out. Somehow it manages to pull in a few hundred visitors daily. You can have the whole site for this one too – it’s WordPress based but I’ll give you the code, themes, plugins and database if you’d like to keep it going as is.
- QTE.me (Quote.me) – .Me domains are expensive compared to other types – they are also hard to make something clever out of with a minimal amount of verbiage. I was lucky to get this one, and had some big plans for it. Here are a few things you might want to consider:
– a site that tracks Twitter conversations and makes it easy to link to them.
– an insurance quote company with affiliate connections to bigger sites
– finally, my big idea was to do a mashup between Twitter and PasteBin. The idea was to let users post a ton of text or images into the QTE.me box and then post a Twit with a short link so users could see their content without anyone having to do anything special. There is potential there, methinks. - MyiPhoneIs.com – the idea was a site that would let users post their favorite apps and habits that made their iPhone the bestest thing in the whole wide world…think ‘MyiPhoneIs – a blogging tool, when used with blah blah blah’.
Some potential there to build a community amongst iPhone users. - BrickTamland.com – ever seen Anchorman? :)
I really wanted to put together a site with quotes, wallpapers, videos and so on, but frankly can’t bring myself to spend the time on it. You could make money with it using affiliate links to Amazon, Buy.com, dvd sites, t-shirt shops and so on. I love lamp. - PalinIs45.com – oh the fun to be had with this one…
:)
Ok, I think that’s all of them…for now. Like I said: shoot me an email if you’re interested. If the price is right or the deal is interesting enough, I’ll be glad to help you get these projects off the ground with advice or pointers.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my e-yard sale!
