BabyGotMac and a new resolve…

A few weeks ago, I was thinking about starting a new site in the vein of TechPedia but dedicated to Mac articles only. I had the base idea of how I wanted it to operate, but I lacked a good name.
I struggled with it for a few hours when inspiration struck. Therefore I welcome [...]

Goodbye, old friend…

An email sent to my coworkers last week. I was just being a smartass, but people seemed to like it.
:)
In late 2004, we were introduced to someone who made the lives of our fledgling company much easier. Today, that old friend is leaving us for good. He had some hard times, but he also [...]

You slagging, butch furburger!

At work, one of the software packages we use on our email server is GFI Mail Security. it’s a great package with some awesome features, including one that will scan incoming/outgoing emails for certain phrases that could be offensive and lead to HR/legal issues.
There are presets for certain criteria, like ‘racist’, ’sexual’ and ‘profanity’.
So, in [...]

Baby, can you Digg your man?

(Bonus points if you get the title reference)
Today one of my sites, Techpedia.org, got it’s digital ass kicked.

An article I posted on [...]

What did YOU do today?

Me and my boy, AC, configured and imaged 14 computers for the upcoming NECC tradeshow. To be fair, AC did most of the work, but I was instrumental in coaching him and offering soothing words of encouragement.

10 PC, 4 Macs…wheeee. At NECC last year, we had 4 systems. We’ve grown a tad since then, [...]

Bad programmer, bad!

The dialog above is from Parallels rc2. I was about to delete a duplicate disk image that was slated for a Vista install. However, the Parallels bios doesn’t support the fancy stuff Vista neeeds to run, so no go.
Anyway, I was a click away from hitting ‘Finish’, when my eye caught the bottom checkbox. The [...]

Macbook released

Apple released the MacBook today…it’s the replacement for the iBook, complete with the move to the Intel platform.
It’s a pretty damned nice looking machine, especially the glossy black.
Bad news is that works’ software won’t run on Intel yet, and that the black costs $200 more for no discernible reason.
Sigh.
