The Rescue Blues

Andy always picks on me because I like ‘hooks’, or parts of songs that stand out. It can be a vocal nuance, a solo, a random note or two or even a bass line. Of course, he only listens to three bands, so his opinion doesn’t matter anyway…

So, in honor of my penchant for tearing apart songs and finding the good stuff, I present a new category of posts: AudioParts. I’ll post my favorite part(s) of a song and explain why I like it.

Todays song: The Rescue Blues by Ryan Adams (no, not Canadian demigod Bryan Adamsthis one here). The snippet is from about a minute or so into the song…Adams changes things up a bit and just throws a little kick into the second line, accentuating the word ‘high’. It’s unexpected, raw and just makes a good song even better.
